Mormedi receives Honourable Mention at Red Dot Awards Ceremony

Essen, Germany - Mormedi was delighted to receive the Honourable Mention at the Red Dot Award Ceremony: Product Design 2019 for the design made alongside Torrot of The Velocipedo the new three-wheeled electric vehicle that aims to change the way people move around in cities.

Mormedi’s CEO, Jaime Moreno, accepted the recognition given by one of the largest and most prestigious design competitions in the world.

The Red Dot Award Ceremony took place at Essen’s opera house, the Aalto Theater. More than 1,200 guests celebrated the winners, as well as representatives from business, politics, and the media.

Mormedi and Torrot designed The Velocipedo which was exhibited in The Red Dot Museum during the Designers’ Night and is also featured online on Red Dot’s official website.

With more than 18,000 submissions, the Red Dot Award is one of the largest design competitions in the world. In 1955, a jury convened for the first time to assess the best designs of the day. The name and brand of the award were developed in the 1990s by Red Dot CEO, Professor Dr. Peter Zec.
